Fr. Dennis E. Kubena found peace on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on November 6, 1947, in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Emil and Ann Kubena.
Beloved father of Carrie (Nick) Serbian and Adam Kubena, and the late Timothy Kubena. Proud grandfather of Luke Serbian. Dear brother of Gregory (Rosa) Kubena and the late John Kubena. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Dennis built a life devoted to service, faith, and family. A graduate of St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 1970 and completed two additional years of graduate study toward a Th.M. in Pastoral Studies. During his time at the seminary, he served as Class President, President of the College Senate, and President of the College Speakers Forum. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Theology from Trinity Evangelical School, continuing his lifelong pursuit of learning and spiritual leadership.
Dennis served as a Police Sergeant with the New Berlin Police Department, a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve in the Selective Services Branch, and a Chaplain of palliative care at ProHealth Care. He also ministered as Father Dennis Kubena of Bread of Life Church in Dousman, WI where his compassion, insight, and guidance deeply influenced those he served. In addition, he shared his professional experience as an instructor at Waukesha County Technical College, where he taught police report writing and mentored future law enforcement officers.
He will be remembered for his gentle heart, unwavering loyalty, and the love he shared with everyone around him. Dennis found joy in gardening, traveling, volunteering with the homeless, and spending time with his beloved grandson, Luke.
His Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 12th at Bread of Life Church, 214 Grove street, Dousman Wisconsin.
