Dawn Marie Hager found eternal peace at the age of 58 on October 15, 2019. Born to Yvonne and Peter Hager on January 27, 1961, the world saw the first glimpse of the bright sunshine she  was to radiate her entire life.. She was a treasured wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to all whom she met. She bravely battled cancer until the Lord called her home to be his angel.

Dawn was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She received her Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and worked with AT&T for 39 dedicated years. In 2003 she married Michael Krause and became a second mother to Michael Jr, Kristopher and Kathleen Krause.

Dawn had a zeal for life. She approached each morning with enthusiasm, grace and an open soul. She found joy in nature, family, friends and generosity. She loved hiking, bicycling, good food, traveling, skiing and continuous shared laughter.

She provided 40 years of generous support and service to the Spring City Special Olympics organization as a coach and director for volleyball and basketball serving hundreds of families, individual athletes and the community as a whole. She had a deep passion for helping those that could use some uplifting through food pantries, soup kitchens and home visits.

She adored all creatures of nature and treated every human with respect and dignity. She will be remembered as having an infectious smile that would light up a room when she entered, a giving heart, and the ability to unite the whole room with laughter and joy. She left a beautiful impression on all that knew her, and inspired all of us to be better people as a result of her selfless and kind nature.

She was preceded in death by her father Pete, and her mother, Yvonne. She is survived by her husband Michael, stepchildren Michael Jr, Kristopher (Kara), and Kathleen, her brothers John and Steve (Kim), her grandson Nicholas, her nephew Matthew (Stephanie) and many extended family members and close friends.

Services will be held on November 8, 2019, with a Gathering from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, a Memorial Mass at 4:00 PM, and a Celebration of Life afterward at St. Anthony on the Lake in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Flowers can be delivered directly to the church in her name on the day of the services.

A GoFundMe Campaign in her honor has been set up with the donations going to the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes for Childhood Cancer) and Special Olympics, both charities close to her heart: https://www.gofundme.com/f/it039s-never-about-herselflessness-defined?fbclid=IwAR3OeYc5uf9UAges8v2XZNVBlhOQN4DAlUTz8MIIKQRVaKI-DqVF6yCp01s
