In Loving Memory of
David Roy Schultz
It is with great sadness to announce the death of David Roy Schultz, friend to hundreds, mentor to dozens, and admired and respected by everyone who came in contact with him.
David was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 17, 1956, son of the late Roy and Delores (Nee: Gotz) Schultz. On May 28, 2022 he was united in marriage to Mary (Thome) Zabler and joined their two families; sons, Michael Schultz and Danny Schultz; stepdaughter Melanie Zabler; his sisters Roxanne (Brad) Gaszak, Darlene (Tal) Janowitz; his brother Richard Schultz; his brother-in-law Scott (Teresa Baker) Thome; his sister-in-law Lori Kuri; his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Katie Durant Schultz, stepson Tristan Dawe, his stepson Mitchell Zabler, sister Deborah Schultz and sister-in-law Suzanne (Fred) Guy.
David graduated from Bay View High School Class of 1975. Obtained several certificates from MATC and Gateway Technical College. He held several jobs throughout his life from a Milwaukee Journal route as a kid, flipping burgers at McDonalds, Manager at Keller Mobil and being a Fabricator. David’s pride was owning and operating several Automotive Service Stations – Schultz Automotive. He was an ASE Certified Mechanic and Instructor. David enjoyed Martial Arts, riding his Harley Davidson, Brewers Baseball games, Milwaukee Bucks, time at the shooting range and so much more. He had a hunger for knowledge and would spend hours researching the mysteries of our world. He will be deeply missed.
He was diagnosed with ILD – Interstitial Lung Disease in January 2025. With only 40% lung capacity his immune system was compromised which led to his hospitalization for Pneumonia, Sepsis and Renal Failure. His body will be cremated.
Our thanks to all of you who reached out and supported us in so many ways, We owe special gratitude to the medical staff of Froedtert: from his Pulmonary Specialist to the loving and supportive staff at Froedtert MICU. Private celebration of life to follow.
