David Charles "Dave" Mike

David (Dave) Charles Mike, 72, passed away on April 18th, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with illness. Dave was born on September 21st, 1950, in Milwaukee, WI, to Foody and Margaret Mike. He grew up in Camp Douglas, graduated from Tomah High School, and obtained his bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire. Shortly after college he began his career in EMS. Dave’s career spanned over 50 years, during which he worked as an EMT at Paratech Ambulance and later as a Dispatch Supervisor at Midwest Medical Transport.

Dave was a man of many passions and interests. He had a lifelong love for learning and was an avid nature enthusiast who enjoyed exploring both local and national parks. He was also a devoted sports fan, especially of Wisconsin teams. Dave was a dedicated member of his church and had a big heart for helping others. He and his wife, Ginny, fostered 26 children over 17 years and continues to maintain relationships with many of them. Dave’s infectious smile, contagious laughter, and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Ginny (Virginia Schurman) of 25 years, his children Lisa (Brian) Mike-Herman, Dan (Nicki Furru), Paulina Mike (Eric Parish), Sarahnetta Mike (John Feciskonin), and Levert Davis, as well as his grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, and grand pets. He is also survived by his brothers Joel and John. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Foody John Mike, his mother, Margaret Marie (Mark) Mike, and his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, May 06, 2023, at Brown Deer United Methodist Church, located at 5736 West Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer, WI. Gathering held from 12:30 PM-2:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM-3:00 PM. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, please donate to First Responders Children’s Foundation.

Please honor Dave by wearing your Wisconsin sports clothing or anything that you feel comfortable in. Jeans, shorts, sweatshirts and T-shirts encouraged. Suits, ties, etc., discouraged.
