On January 28, 1965, God blessed this world and the Jones’ family with a beautiful soul, Betty Jean. The youngest daughter of five girls to Randolph and Pauline Jones. What can we say about Betty Boo? Betty Jean was a force to be reckoned with. Even with all her energy and force, she had a loving and gentle spirit.

Her life was full of ups and downs, moving through life like a roller coaster. But, even through all the rough and tough times, Betty would give you the shirt off her back, if she had ten dollars, she would give you five.

Betty attended Marshall High School and completed her schooling at Milwaukee Area Technical College where she received her GED. Because she was such a creative spirit you knew she would follow her passion and path in the world of beauty. She became a certified cosmetologist and makeup artist. She walked into the world of beauty as a model. Betty’s beauty, creativity, and talent was mesmerizing. She soon started her own business where she was contracted as a makeup artist and hairstylist working on numerous televisions, movie sets, and photo shoots.

As a child/teen she loved to draw and she was an excellent skater, where she couldn’t wait to get to the skating rink every Saturday night. Betty went on to win 1st runner up as Miss Black Wisconsin.

Even with her life struggles she was devoted to her two beautiful daughters. Whitney Taylor Jones and Logan Elaine Jones. Betty’s creativity doesn’t fall far from the tree. Whitney Taylor inherited her talent for laying some hair. Logan inherited her talent for makeup artistry and laying some hair.

Betty went through some dark times as she went through her journey called life, but she loved the Lord and gave her life to him many years ago. She would read her bible faithfully and repeat scripture even though she faced many challenges with her health. Betty continued to hold her head high, she kept on moving, which is a testament of her strength.

On Saturday, March 28, 2020, God called Betty home and welcomed her into his arms so she could rest and be at peace.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Pauline Jones and her oldest sister Patricia Hogan.  I can see the smile on her face as she saw our beloved mother and sister waiting for her.

She will forever live in the hearts of her loving daughters Whitney and Logan. Sisters, JJ Harrison, Brenda Wesley, Kelly Womack. Three grandchildren, Kelvin III, Sydney and Cheyenne. A host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and many more that loved her.
